Code Maine offers you a unique curriculum that combines software coding and career development training. You will learn through coursework, projects and field trips from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday, to prepare for the working world in all aspects.
You will also participate in small groups on a Capstone Project with corporate sponsors. There’s no better way for you to gain a sense of employment as a coder than to challenge yourself with your Capstone Project, solving a technology problem proposed by a local business.
As part of your coursework, you will learn the skills to achieve an Eastern Maine Community College Software Development Certificate. Earning that certificate will allow prospective employers to quickly grasp each of the skills you have mastered. Additionally, you will be eligible to gain college credit at Eastern Maine Community College for the Code Maine courses you take.
Throughout the school year, you will interact with a professional mentor from a community business. Your mentor will work to help you gain career readiness and assist you in demystifying the workplace. You’ll talk on the phone, meet for coffee, or visit with them in their office to find out more about what’s in store for you as a software developer.
